WATER INTO WINE

”WATER INTO WINE” is one of the miracles of Jesus which leaves everyone who was present there, completely spellbound. Although it’s the very first miracle Jesus does in his era.

 

Actually, there was a grand wedding organized in the city of Cana in galilee. It was so grand that a major portion of the entire population of Cana was invited to that event. Thereby Jesus, Mary and all his disciples were also invited there.

Everyone was lost in enjoying the wedding regardless of caring about the scarcity of the main beverage (wine). As the result, some members notice the scarcity of wine due to being consumed excessively by majorities.

MARY’S FAITH IN JESUS

The baffled ones who knew about the shortage of wine were extremely bothered about it. They well understood and rather had a good idea about the humiliation they could have gone through once their concern will be disclosed to all.

As a gist, there were a bunch of people with lacklustre faces and humiliated eyes who were expecting some miracle. Hence this lady finally comes to mother Mary and expresses her worries on that matter.

 

 

Whereas Mary was even shocked as she herself had not thought of it. But notwithstanding she shows her empathy towards this already bothered lady and asks her to stay calm.

Thereafter she promptly approaches her son ”JESUS” and shares the problem with him. Whereas Jesus counters her saying that his time had not come.

Although Mary was rather sure that the son of god would unquestionably take some actions to fulfil her needs.

Thereby she just dictates the disciples standing nearby, to just do as Jesus says and she leaves.

Thereafter Jesus tells his disciples to fill the stone jars with water to the brim. There was a total of six stone jars occupying around twenty to thirty gallons of liquid each. As the disciples were done with their job. Jesus tells them to serve the guests. Although the baffled disciples were completely perplexed to hear what Jesus had just said. But regardless of thinking about anything else or doubting Jesus’s abilities, they just do it.

THE SURPRISED GUEST

The disciples commence serving the guests all around the hall. Soon a guest calls one of the disciples and congratulates him. The guest surprisingly tells him that he was shocked after drinking that wine that is supposed to be served at the beginning of the ceremony. He further explains to him that the purest wine is always served at the beginning and the mixed are at the ending.

Hence he was thoroughly impressed by their service. Thereafter he praises the bridegroom too and expresses his joy to them for their warm hospitality. This was the first time people witnessed Jesus doing a live miracle by converting water into premium wine.

                     LESSON FROM THE STORY OF WATER INTO WINE (John 2: 1-11)

(1) IN THE STORY OF WATER INTO WINE WHEN MARY SHARES HER WORRIES TO JESUS SHE WAS VERY CALM. SHE APPARENTLY KNEW THAT THE SON OF GOD WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE HER WORRIES FOR GRANTED. MOREOVER, WHEN JESUS REPLIES TO HER THAT HIS TIME HAD NOT COME, SHE STILL WAS RELAXED AND JUST TELLS THE DISCIPLES TO COMPLY WITH JESUS’S ORDERS. 

HOWEVER, JESUS DOES LISTEN TO HER AND ALSO SOLVES THE PROBLEM. SIMILARLY, WE CAN ALSO LEARN TO RELY ON GOD IRRESPECTIVE OF PONDERING ABOUT OUR WORRIES. AT TIMES WE ALSO FIND OURSELVES IN THIS KIND OF UNCONTROLLABLE SITUATION WHERE WE ALSO LOOK FOR A MIRACLE. HENCE DURING THESE SITUATIONS WE SHOULD JUST PRAY TO GOD AND ASK HIM TO HELP US AS MARY DOES IN THE STORY OF ” WATER INTO WINE”.

HE IS THE PROVIDER (BELIEF IN HIM)

(2) AS JESUS ASCERTAINS THE URGENCY OF THE NEED HE PROMPTLY FULFILLS IT. ALTHOUGH THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN MANY EXCEPT MARY AND  HIS DISCIPLES WHO WOULD NOT HAVE EXPECTED ANY MIRACLE FROM JESUS. BUT WE KNOW THAT OUR JESUS IS COMPETENT TO FIX ANY PROBLEM. HENCE HE DOES THE SAME THERE TOO. HE FULFILLS THE NEED AND LEAVES EVERYONE STUNNED.  THEREFORE WE MUST POSSESS FAITH IN OUR HEARTS AS MARY POSSESSED. 

                                                          EMBRACE HIM AND FEEL THE MAGIC

(3) IN THE STORY OF WATER INTO WINE JESUS DOES HIS FIRST MIRACLE AND STILL, HE HAS NOT STOPPED. WE MUST LOVE, ACCEPT AND COMPLY WITH HIS COMMANDS AND WE WOULD VOLUNTARILY START EXPERIENCING MIRACLES IN OUR LIVES TOO.
